Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!
Join us for a traditional Fête du Beaujolais Nouveau at the Ancient Mariner!
Every year since 1951, the third Thursday of November marks a special event for the worldwide wine community - the release of the new vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau.
We’ll be cracking open this young, fresh, fruity and gluggable wine on the very first day it’s permitted to be sold - and celebrating in style with four gorgeous French dishes added to our specials menu! We’ll keep going through to Friday - until we run out!
We have a limited number of bottles, so please specify if you would like to reserve one for your table when making your booking.

LAST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH 7PM
Introducing… Quizzy McQuizface! Join us on the last Sunday of every month for an evening of classic pop culture trivia across three rounds - 80s, 90s and 00s - alongside a music round and some very special bonus rounds!
7pm start, £2 per play, maximum team size of six and first prize is a £75 bar tab - plus the winners will also become the proud owner of a life-size pop culture ‘cardboard cut-out of the month’!

THIRD THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH 8PM (ALTERNATING)
A night of instrumental folk and Klezmer tunes from Russia, Eastern-Europe, the Balkans and beyond with Buffo's Wake, featuring accordion, violin, double bass and guitar.
A whistle-stop tour of music from the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Russia and beyond, performed with the band's usual frenetic energy, you will hear influences from classical music, klezmer and gypsy-jazz, performed with virtuosity.
As part of a Thursday residency shared with Nine Dead Mice.

HOMEWARD BOUND SEA SHANTY SESSION
FOURTH THURSDAY OF THE MONTH 7:30PM
Sea shanties are sailors work songs that were sung to keep up the spirits and morale of the sailors.
With Homeward Bound, YOU get to be the sailors singing and bonding together. With a rum in your belly and hearty spirits Zack Mckraken will learn you traditional and world renowned sailor songs and have you all shanting with fire and gusto EVEN IF YOU FEEL YOU CAN’T SING - it is only GUMPTION and a GOOD SENSE O’ HUMOUR that is required!

This is LIVE Karaoke - so no midi, no backing tracks, no balls bouncing over the lyrics on a massive screen as you lose your place for the hundredth time cos you had too much wine...
This is LIVE Karaoke - so you sing your choice of song with a live professional accompaniment, as if you have your very own band! You choose the song from a well-curated repertoire of more than 250 classics - and Glen will play the song on the piano from his voluminous memory, and find a key and pace to suit you...
Come on down for what will be a magnificent evening in which to discover your fabulous self - sing your favourite songs in a fun and relaxed environment.
It's a 8.30pm start so you can all get sufficiently lubricated, and we'll go on until you can't take any more - and most importantly, ALL VOICES are welcome! The wonderful, weird and the downright atrocious...

Pottery & Pints aims to turn the idea of traditional pottery workshops on its head, bringing something special in the relaxed and informal atmosphere of the local pub. Your first drink is included in the ticket price, and there’s lots of time to chat and socialise while waiting for your turn at the wheel!
